WGL Energy Returns to Maryland Municipal League (MML) Event

Sustainable solutions were top of mind in Ocean City this week, with the WGL Energy Services (WGL Energy) team promoting Carbon Offsets, Renewable Energy Credits and other of our lower-carbon energy offerings to a well-attended show. MML, the association of cities and towns across the state, hosted its annual conference June 12-15.

When you represent Maryland's roughly 157 local governments, the stage is set for lively discussion and opportunity for productive exchanges with elected officials. This year did not disappoint!

WGL Energy is a longtime sponsor (this year at booth # 514 at the Ocean City Convention Center), where trending themes are showcased and discussed among policy makers and constituents, including the role of energy. The 2022 summer focus again explored the importance of not just the benefits of traditional energy from retail suppliers, but also lowering carbon emissions through innovation to address climate change and foster a sustainable future for Marylanders.

After all, the state set big goals for itself: it on track to achieve significant greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions of nearly 50% by 2030, and striving for net-zero economy-wide GHG emissions by 2045.

After prior pandemic restrictions, MML’s event is back to being in-person! The WGL Energy team was excited to have on display its energy solution offerings that address lowering carbon emissions and help businesses of all sizes remain corporate environmental stewards. We were yet again impressed with how easy it was to interact and engage with commercial and state agencies in the Expo Hall, which featured over 250 exhibits.

“WGL is pleased to participate in another successful event with fellow sponsors, exhibitors, attendees and leaders in the state of Maryland,” said WGL Energy’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Clint Zediak. “These gatherings are always positive sessions and a great way to continue to build relationships and display our latest energy offerings to support our customers.”

Coming up in Ocean City – in August, we are heading back to ride the energy wave! WGL Energy will be attending MACo (the Maryland Association of Counties) annual event after 20-plus years supporting the exhibit, as a sponsor (and ‘greening’ the event to offset carbon emissions), August 17-20. After that, it’s off to the Maryland Multi-Housing Association (MMHA) Industry Development Day & Expo in Baltimore County on August 25.
