Amid these challenging times, we hope this message finds you well.
We want to remind you that we are fully operational and assure you that we are closely monitoring developments related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and taking necessary precautions to protect the health and safety of our customers and colleagues by following local government social distancing guidelines.
As a part of the AltaGas Ltd. family of companies, WGL Energy is financially sound and is positioned to survive disruptive periods such as this. We are dedicated to continuing to work with you in good faith as we move through this difficult time and, like you, look forward to a return to “business as usual.”
In the meantime, the pandemic is causing all of us to face unique issues as we navigate an uncertain marketplace, and while we do not know what the future holds, we can assure you of the following:
Given the severe decrease in usage experienced by many businesses, as long as you remain an active customer of WGL Energy and meet your payment obligations with us, we will do our best to work with you as we monitor the impact of government coronavirus directives on our contract so that we get through this together.
In regard to invoice payments, to help mitigate the impact of the pandemic on your business, if WGL Energy bills you directly, we may be able to offer you extended payment terms and a waiver of late fees for a fixed period of time for qualifying customers. If you are billed solely by your utility, we can assist you in understanding their payment terms and conditions as needed.
In terms of longer term energy management, you may want to review your energy procurement strategy with an eye toward positioning your organization for future success once the pandemic is over. Energy prices are currently at multi-year year lows, so locking in a renewal contract is a good way to help prepare your business for the future.

Our staff is working remotely in compliance with local government guidelines and we anticipate there will be no obstacles that will affect our ability to respond to the needs of our channel partners or our residential and business customers, in terms of pricing, contracting, and/or billing services. Please continue working with your WGL Energy representative as needed.

WGL Energy Systems Update
Dear WGL Energy Customers:
On July 22, AltaGas announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement for the sale of its portfolio of U.S. distributed generation assets held by WGL Energy Systems. The assets are being sold to TerraForm Power, Inc., an affiliate of Brookfield Asset Management. It includes 322MW of distributed generation assets through more than 4,000 projects across 20 states and the District of Columbia. The sale, subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to close in the third quarter of 2019. More information about the sale can be found here.
Importantly, this sale does not impact WGL Energy Services or your relationship with us. WGL Energy Services will continue to provide clean energy solutions to our retail customers in competitive markets, including electricity, natural gas, renewable energy and carbon reduction solutions.
